Available in June '08, Nostalgie is pleased to announce the addition of leather zip wallets/pouches, as well as limited numbers of card & iPhone cases. Constructed by hand from a unique selection of soft, but durable, tough leathers, & being offered in a few different stain & style options.
The wallets, inspired by the recent addition of men's leather belts, (also pictured below, & both of which employ the same subtle hand engraved/burned artwork & designs), are made solely from remanent scraps of premium leathers, leftovers which would otherwise go unused, as a nod to the Native American tradition of simply not wasting a single useful piece of hide, the decision was made to use these select remanents to effectively "create something from nothing", rather than import or acquire new hides & skins for these pieces, while also not sacrificing quality.
Like the belts, the wallet's engraving feature a similar subtle aesthetic, & are done using the same methods as the belts, before being constructed into the final pieces. The end results are simple, practical, functional, tough, yet visually and aesthetically unique carry everyday leather wallets/pouches, that are well suited for your basic necessities, (eg: I.D., credit card or two, cash, & some spare change)
Heavily stitched with waxed cottons & silk threads, & decidedly unlined, instead using the leather's unique raw inside in substitution for synthetics, the wallets are made of quality leather hides, that will both stand your abuse, and the rigors of time, while visually featuring unique but subtle artwork & designs burned into each piece that only look better as they age.
